What is an Asset?

An asset is a target that it’s being tested during the pentest. In the Siemba platform, there are five asset types; Web App, Mobile App, API, IT Infrastructure, and Cloud. 

  • Web App: This is a program that is stored on a remote server and delivered over the internet using a browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. Siemba conducts security assessments to find vulnerabilities that can endanger the security of the organization.
  • Mobile App: This is a type of software that is designed to run on a mobile device, like a smartphone or tablet. Siemba conducts security assessments to find vulnerabilities that can endanger the security of the organization.
  • API: It is an abbreviation for Application Programming Interface. APIs are mechanisms that allow two software components to communicate with one another through the use of a set of protocols and definitions. Siemba conducts security assessments to find vulnerabilities that can endanger the security of the organization.
  • IT Infrastructure:  The physical network devices used throughout an organization like Routers, Switches, IoT devices, etc. Siemba conducts security assessments to find vulnerabilities that can endanger the security of the organization.
  • Cloud: The Cloud Computing services used by an organization to run a product and provide its services to the customers. Siemba conducts configuration assessments to check proper security practices in place.
